There aren't many places you can find Monet's work feet away from a virtual reality installation, but that is just what you'll see at the LA Art Show. There's no arguing it —the five-day long art fair is now a tentpole event and the largest of it's kind on the West Coast. Its pieces take up over 150,000 square feet at the LA Convention Center with more than 100 galleries from 18 countries. Essentially, it's an international encyclopedia of art.
Industry newcomers and veterans alike will have something to discover. What's displayed on the walls is complimented by performance art and scheduled expert discussions with titles like "Selling Out Or Selling Up." Really though, art is all about their community and LA Art Show gives the close knit industry a platform to come together —The LACMA and MOCA are in the company of MAMA Gallery and media partners like Downtown Muse.
