Freelance Tech Writer (San Francisco)

Overview & Purpose:

The professional we’re on the hunt for isn’t your typical tech writer. Based out of the epicenter of the startup world, the position requires someone who is enthusiastic about the intersection of tech and culture. What is the tech trend of tomorrow? What who is next tech genius? This writer must be quick, enthusiastic, and well-connected to execute well-reported and well-informed stories.

Responsibilities:

• Pitches fresh story ideas focused on the tech and startup world
• Has the interpersonal skills to reach out to subjects and coordinate interviews  
• Aids in planning and execution of Feature and Bulletin stories based in San Francisco
• Delivers assets on time

Requirements:
• Must be highly detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Applicants must be able to excel under tight deadlines with precision, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Eager, motivated and organized
• Desire to work in content
• Must live in the San Francisco area
• Must have a laptop
• Photography and videography skills a plus

**This position would include delivering 3-5 stories per week

Editorial Intern (New York & Los Angeles)

Overview & Purpose:
The position requires someone who is fast on their feet, enthusiastic about culture and trend (i.e. music, fashion, technology, art and food) and interested in building content and helping with day-to-day website management.

Responsibilities:
• Provides day-to-day support to the Managing Editor and Editorial Assistant
• Helping with layouts and inputting content
• In the know for culture events, including but not limited to fashion, food, art, tech, and music
• Loves to write and wants to learn about editorial and content development.
• Helps with photo shoots, video shoots, social media, and production as needed.
• Aiding in planning and execution of Feature and Bulletin stories
• Helping with weekly email blasts and weekly site reports
• Drop offs and pickups of assets when needed

Requirements:
• Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Applicants must be able to excel under tight deadlines with precision, have the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Eager, motivated and organized
• Desire to work in editorial and content
• Must live in Los Angeles or New York
• Must have a laptop
• In-depth knowledge of Squarespace is a huge plus!

*This is an unpaid internship, but student credit is offered if applicable. After 3 months, there will be an evaluation for part or full-time employment as an Editorial Assistant.

Brand Partnerships Intern (Los Angeles)

Overview & Purpose:
The position requires someone who is fast on their feet, enthusiastic about culture and trend (i.e. music, fashion, technology, art and food) and interested in building and maintaining relationships.

Responsibilities:
• Providing day-to-day support to the brand partnership team, assisting with contacts and outreach as neede
• Accompany brand partnership team/counter parts on calls and in meetings
• In the know for culture events, including but not limited to fashion, food, art, tech, and music
• Aiding in researching, ideating, developing, and implementing marketing strategies to attract new clients, gain exposure, and nurture client relationships
• Drop offs and pickups of assets when needed

Requirements:
• Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in creating and editing documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Applicants must be able to excel under tight deadlines with precision, have the ability to multi-task, and prioritize

• Must live in Los Angeles and have a reliable form of transportation
• Must have a laptop
